The
stu~y ~ill be done by a private
consultant and will cover techni-
cel, e~vironmental, political, ane
econa::::.: areas. An actual testi:)!;
pro!,",,,:. Several deep
wells i~ Paradox Valley, drilled
and aba~ldoned by oil companies,
~ill be strongly considered for
possi21e locations of injecting.

~he proposed Radium Evaporatic~
Pend ~c~:d be located approxireate2y
eight :::i:es southwest of Naturitc,
C02..01"2::C' on ttvo intemittent tyi~.'..:-
taries 0: Dr~ Creek. Removal processes have
been determined and are being
tested. The hydrogen sulfide
pilot s~ripping plant testing is
approxi~ately 70 percent completed.
Tl1is s~culd be completed during the
oirst paY~ of 1982. The

.

design data collection program will
provide information for more accurately
determining the pumping rate required
for reducing brine inflow to the
Dolores River. Hith this pumping rate,
preconstruction design of all required
facilities will be done. Also with
the results of the deep well injection
study and additional Radium Reservoir
investigations, decisions will be made
as to the most suitable disposal metllo~.

Flood protection was provided
2lo~g the river channel throughout
the valley.
