<br />GudiG <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />A monitoring program that is designed and executed properly can be accomplished by the <br />irrigation district. <br /> <br />Existing groundwater wells can be readily converted for use as injection wells. <br /> <br />Groundwater recharge using untreated surface water was successful using simple <br />pretreatment sedimentation basins. No plugging or deterioration of recharge facilities was <br />experienced over the term of this project. <br /> <br />Future Plans <br /> <br />The actual operational duration of the project was relatively short and may not have been <br />adequate to clearly demonstrate the long-term impact on the groundwater aquifers. The <br />SWID is continuing groundwater recharge operations, including monitoring at all of the <br />recharge sites, and is looking into further opportunities to obtain cost share funding to <br />extend project operations. <br /> <br />11 <br />
