<br />001730 <br /> <br />PREFACE <br /> <br />Muller Engineering Company, Inc. of Lakewood, Colorado, prepared this <br />reconnaissance level report which presents results of a study of the <br />Rio Grande levee system through the City of Al amosa, Colorado. The <br />City of A 1 amosa and Al amosa County, in cooperation with the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board (CWCB), requested preparation of this report. <br />The report identifies needed improvements to the levee system and also <br />provides an opinion on the. cost of the improvements. <br /> <br />The study and report were prepared in a very short time period and <br />reflects the input of local and state officials closely involved with <br />the levee system. The report should be considered a resource document <br />to guide the remaining steps of obtaining funding for design and <br />construction of the needed improvements.
