<br />o <br />CJ1 <br />00 <br />en <br /> <br />PREFACE <br /> <br />The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of a suggested <br />analytical technique for the investigation of the hydrologic impacts of <br />flow regulation. This technique has been developed for use :in studies with <br />wide geographical coverage and broad scope of analysis, wherein simplifi- <br />cation of approach and reduction in the need for detailed data :inputs must <br />be achieved without sacrificing the capability to develop adequate and <br />realistic, albeit not perfect, information about the actual hydrology of <br />a river system, <br /> <br />It is intended that this paper serve to initiate review, discussion, <br />and comment among those who may be interested in the technique described <br />herein, As that review process reveals ways in which this technique can <br />be improved upon or otherwise refined, such changes shall be made and <br />subsequent versions of this paper prepared for distribution, <br />
