<br />~ <br /> <br />Coosttuction <br /> <br />Colorado River Storage Project <br />Animas-La Plata Participating Project <br /> <br />Colorado-New Mexico <br /> <br />Location: This project is 10C3led in southwestern Colorado and nonhwcstem New Mexico. <br /> <br />Description: The authorized project would provide 80,100 acre-feet annually of municipal and industrial <br />(M&:I) water supplies with new M&I water supplies alIOC3Ied fot'the Navajo Tribe, 7,600 <br />acre-feet; the Ute Mountain Ute Indians, 6,000 acre-feet; and the Southern Utes, 26,500 acre- <br />feet. M&I water would also be provided for Colorado non-Indians, 9,200 acre-feet (for <br />Durango and La Plata and adjacent rural areas) and for New Mexico communities and rural <br />areas, 30,800 acre-feeL The project would provide a Cull water supply for the irrigation of <br />11,980 acres of Ute Mountain Ute Indian land, 31,500 acres of non-Indian land in Colorado, <br />1,800 acres of Southern Ute Indian Resc[Vation land, and 4,530 acres of non-Indian land in <br />New Mexico. A supplemental supply would be provided for 17,650 acres of presently <br />irrigated land. The beneiit-cost ratio includes interest during <br />construction on both Federal and non-Federal contributions wh= applicable. <br /> <br />Completion Data: <br /> <br />A cost-sharing agreement was signed with State, Feder.>!, and Tribal entities on June 30, <br />1986, providing that Phase 1 of the project would be CODStructed in not less than 12 year.; <br />from initial coDStruction.
