HMG/:03 Determination of Winter Use and Seasonal Flow Needs of Colorado
Pikeminnow in the Lower Price River (UDWR, $51,300)

The Price River may be biologically important to the Green River populations of
Colorado pikeminnow; however, it is not known if the Colorado pikeminnow occupy the
Price River seasonally or year-round. This study will identify relationships between
flow, habitat and endangered fish use year-round and to develop flow recommendations
to protect endangered fish. Total out year cost: $0

C-9 CAP/9303: Yampa River Management Plan (FWS, $345,200)

Development ofa management plan for the Yampa River Basin to promote recovery of
endangered fishes of the Upper Colorado River Basin and offsets impacts of existing and
foreseeable future water depletions from the Yampa River to meet human needs. A
management plan will be developed for the Yampa River Basin to serve as the basis for
the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to render a programmatic biological opinion (PBO).
The PBO will encompass current and foreseeable future water depletions in the Yampa
River Basin. This plan will quantify water depletions to be covered and recovery actions
to be implemented to offset the impacts of depletions and promote recovery of the
endangered fishes. Recovery actions will include provision for and protection of
instream flows, habitat restoration and maintenance, nonnative fish control, endangered
fish stocking, and monitoring endangered fish populations. Total out year cost: to be
determined.

,
"
"

"

I,

Ii
II

113. HMG/0204: Gunnison River Management Plan (FWS, $0)

Development of a management plan for the Gunnison River Basin to promote recovery of
endangered fishes of the Upper Colorado River Basin and offsets impacts of existing and
foreseeable future water depletions from the Gunnison River to meet human needs. A
management plan will be developed for the Gunnison River Basin to serve as the basis
for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to render a programmatic biological opinion
(PBO). The PBO will encompass both federal and non-federal existing and future water
development projects in the Gunnison River Basin. The management plan will quantify
water depletions to be covered and recovery actions to be implemented to offset the
impacts of depletions and promote recovery of the endangered fish. Recovery actions
will include provision for and protection of instream flows, habitat restoration and
maintenance, nonnative fish control, endangered fish stocking, and monitoring
endangered fish populations and their habitats. Total outyear cost: to be determined.

114. HMG/0204: Tributaries Management Plans (FWS, $0)

Development of management planes) for significant tributaries of the Upper Colorado
River Basin to promote recovery of endangered fishes and offsel impacts of existing and
foreseeable future water deplelions from these tributary basins to meet human needs,
Management planes) will be developed for the White and Dolores rivers and possibly

C-5
