There have been no <br /> <br />foreclosures of recent date. <br /> <br />Under the Model project there are a number of absentee <br /> <br />owners. Few of these have mortgages on their land but nearly all <br /> <br />of the resident owners do. Most of the land under the other ditches <br /> <br />is owner farmed. In general the farm population appears to be <br /> <br />quite stable indicating a fairly prosperous condition. <br /> <br />The Burns & Duncan and the Lewelling & McCormick ditohes <br /> <br />are privately owned, all other ditches listed in Table 8 are owned <br /> <br />by operating stock oompanies, with Water attaching to the stock <br /> <br />shares, and most of the shares owned by the irrigators.
