Capability exists for diversion of the full
69,200 acre-feet average diversion authorized by the Fryingpan-Arkansas
Project Act, Public Law 87-590, August 16, 1962. ActUBl diversion in
1980 was 56,000. acre-feet. Full capability for use for the average
diversion will occur by 1990.

Ruedi Reservoir

No consumptive uses are presently being made from Ruedi Reservoir except
reservoir evaporation which is already included in the "Present" total.
Operation studies indicate 48,000 acre-feet would be available as yield
of the reservoir for consumptive use. It is estimated uses would begin
by 1990 and the reservoir fully utilized by 2010. These uses would
likely be for industry.

Animas-La Plata Project

A feasibility report was prepared in 1962 and the project was authorized
by Public Law 90-537, September 30, 1968. A definite plan report was
approved in August, 1980. The plan provides for large amounts of water
for irrigation, municipal and industrial use, and totals 154,800 acre-feet
depletion; Colorado - 120,700 acre-feet, New Mexico - 34,100 acre-feet.
Construction will not likely start before fiscal year 1983. Depletions
will not begin until the latter part of the 1980's when Ridges Basin
Reservoir is completed. It is estimated that only reservoir evaporation
from Ridges Basin will occur as a depletion by 1990 as other project
works will not be completed. Uses will build up rapidly as other project
facilities are constructed.

Dallas Creek Project

The project was authorized by Public Law 90-537 on September 30, 1968.
A definite plan report was completed in November 1976 which indicated
a total depletion of 17,000 acre-feet with the water being used for
agricultural and municipal and industrial purposes. Estimated depletions
are 5,100 acre-feet for irrigstion, 10,000 acre-feet for municipal and
industrial uses, and 1,600 acre-feet for reservoir evaporation. The
control schedule of April IS, 1981, shows initial storage and service
will occur at end of 1985. Distribution facilities now exist for use of
the project water. It is estimated that the combination of reservoir
evaporation, irrigation use, and municipal and industrial use will
deplete about 12,000 acre-feet by 1990 with the remainder by 2000.
