Elbert Forebay (a sin91e purpose storage facility for <br />pumped-storage peak power development) were operated for regu 1 at i on of <br />Project and nonproject water on a service basis, as well as for the <br />operation of Mt. Elbert Pumped-Storage Powerplant. <br /> <br />Pueblo Reservoir was operated for regul~tion of Project and nonproject <br />water on a service basis, as well a~ for flood control, fish and <br />wildlife, and recreation purposes. ' <br /> <br />, <br />III. HYDROLOGIC CONDITIONS AND MAJOR WEATHER EVENTS - WATER YEAR 1989 <br /> <br />Runoff on the West Slope was below normal with inflow to Ruedi Reservoir <br />at 84,4DD acre-feet (64 percent of normal). West Slope imports to the <br />Arkansas River Basin were maximized throughout the year to collect as <br />much water as possible. Total imports w~re 36,400 acre-feet. <br />, <br />, <br />Maximum temperature at Meredith occurred! on July 8, 1989, with 980, the <br />mi n imum temperature was recorded at -331 on Febru ary 7, 1989. Max imum <br />precipitation from snow was recorded on F~bruary 6, 1989, with 1.12 inches <br />of moisture and 14 inches of snowfall. Maximum precipitation from rain <br />occurred in the fi ve-day peri od of September 8-13 with 1. 24 inches of <br />rain. <br /> <br />The Arkansas River Basin runoff was below normal on the entire system. <br />Turquoise and Twin Lakes native runoff wa$ about 75 percent and 65 percent <br />respect ively. Pueb 10 Reservoi r nat i ve ,i nfl ow was about 71 percent of <br />normal. , <br /> <br />Maximum temperature at SU9ar Loaf occurred on July 8, 1989, with 830, the <br />minimum temperature was recorded at _320 on February 7, 1989. Maximum <br />precipitation from snow was recorded on February 6, 1989, with 1.05 inches <br />of moisture from 16 inches of snow.: Maximum precipitation from <br />rain occurred during the five-day period Wrom July 24-28 with 2.04 inches <br />of rain. ' <br /> <br />Twin Lakes maximum temperature was 8601 on July 5, 1989, and mimimum <br />temperature was a _450 on February 7, 1~89. Maximum precipitation was <br />recorded was 1.43 inches on July 24, 19~9. Maximum precipitation from <br />snow was recorded on February 6, 1989, with 16 inches of snow and <br />1.02 inches of moisture. <br /> <br />At Pueblo Reservoir, the maximum temperature occurred on July 9, 1989, <br />with a 1040 reading. The minimum te~perature reading of _160 was <br />recorded on February 7, 1989. Cl imatplogical readings indicate the <br />maximum amount of precipitation was re~orded on July 14, 1989, with <br />1.31 inches of moisture. On February 6, 1989, a 7 inch snow recorded <br />0.56 inch of moisture. <br />
