STONE

(Adopted October 28, 1952)

*****

In the untimely and unexpected passing of Judge Clifford H. Stone,
Director of the Colorado Water Conservation Board, the Arkansas
River Compact Administration has lost a valued and esteemed member,
who was recognized as an authority on water and as a conservation
leader on local, state, regional, national and international levels.
Judge Stone, who has scrv~d on this Administration since it WllS
established in 1949, wntributcJ immL.nscly from hi~ wide experience
and knO\\.'lcdgc, to the solution of difficult prohlems ",,'hien have con-
fronted this Administration. All ffit'mbt'r-; uf this Aclmini~tration re-c'
ognize and appreciate the extraorJinary understanding ~md patience
which Judge Stone contributed to their deliberations.
In the \'\'ork of this Administration, as well as in all of his other
associations and contacts, Judg~ Stone was a painstaking, conscientious,
and tireless worker, who sacrificed his own time and weIl~bcing for
the common good of all.
The Administration deeply mourns the passing of Judge Stone,
whose devotion to duty and responsibility symbolized every high quali.
fication for public service.
Now therefore, be it resolved by the Arkansas River Compact
Administration that this statement be placed upon the record, and a
copy be sent to Judge Stonc's family; to the Colorado Water Conserva-
tion Board; and to the Governor of Colorado.

II

,-
I
