Datum of gage is 7,427.63 It <br />above mean sea level, datum of 1929. <br />Draina~e area.-~7,700 sq mi, approximately (includes 2,940 sq mi in dosed basin in San Luis Valley). <br />Avera~e discharlle.--31 years (1900-30), 846 f~ /s (612,900 acre-ft per year); 70 years (1931-2000) 449 f~ /s (325,300 acre-ft per <br />year). <br />Extremes.-1B99-2000: Maximum discharge observed, 13,200 f~ /s June B, 1905 (gage height, 9.1 ft), from rating curve extended <br />above 8,000 f2/s; no flow at times in 1950-51,1956. <br />Remarks.--Records good except those for winter months, which are fair.
