The EA will evaluate design <br /> <br />changes made since the final environmental impact statement was published on <br /> <br />the unit in 1986. The canal reach extends approximately 11 miles from the <br /> <br />tunnel outlet near Palisade to 18 Road northwest of Fruita. <br /> <br />The draft ~".'Will evaluate the .El'~6n~omic, land use, and .environmental <br /> <br />;.i;!itp.actsj,\l>ii,alternative methods of lining the east end and .middle portions of <br /> <br />,the canal to decrease salt loading in the Colorado River. Prior to a final <br /> <br />decision regarding the alternative to be implemented, the public will have 30 <br /> <br />days ~o, review and comment on the draft document; It ia anticipated that the <br /> <br />draft will be available around June 1991, and at that time will be distributed <br /> <br />to affected landowners as well as State and local governments and other <br /> <br />interested individuals, agencies, and organizations.
