C. 20240 <br /> <br />Dear Secretary Hickel: <br /> <br />The Statement of the Managers on the part of the <br />House on the conference report on the Colora,do River Basin <br />Project (House Report No. 1861, 90th Congress, Second <br />Session) discusses responsibj,lities in determining the <br />size of the Granite Reef Aqueduct. On page 22 of that <br />report it is stated that "The conference language is in- <br />tended to fix the capacity at 3,000 cubic feet per <br />second if this is the desire 2,nd tne decision of the <br />State of Arizona 2,ncl it can be Sh01'iD that an aqueduct of <br />this capacity is economically justified and financially <br />feasible." <br /> <br />We wish to inform you by this letter that the <br />State of Arizona acting through the Arizona Interstate <br />Stream Cooonission has made the decision that it desires <br />the Granite Reef Aqueduct to be sized at 3,000 c.f.s. <br /> <br />As the hydrologic and costing studies of the <br />Bureau of Reclamation progress, the Arizona Interstate <br />Stream Commission \-Jould appreciate being kept informed <br />of findings so that we can maintain a continuing sur- <br />veillance of implications relative to aqueduct capacity <br />in excess of 2,500 c.f.s. <br /> <br />Sincerely, <br />/# tit <<< 0:_ <br />;:{t~J:j;Y::- _X:rl''< <br />"lESLF;1' E.
