A total depletion of about_ 10.300 acre-feet annually' would result <br />from the construction and operation of this-unit. <br /> <br />Storage regulation would be provided by Crystal Ranch Reservoir located on the <br />Yellowstone River. The existing Big Sand Wash Reservoir would be enlarged to <br />capture instream flows from the re-regulation of Crystal Ranch Reservoir. <br />Irrigation supplies would be released from Crystal Ranch Reservoir to the <br />stream channel and re-diverted for distribution through existing canal systems <br />and Big Sand Wash Feeder Pipeline. <br /> <br />The project plan calls for storage of 3.000 acre-feet of municipal and <br />industrial water in the enlarged Big Sand Wash Reservoir for the City of <br />Roosevelt. Water for the City of Roosevelt would be made available by <br />exchanging 3.000 acre-feet of municipal and industrial water in Big Sand Wash <br />Reservoir with 3.000 acre-feet of irrigation water stored in the secondary <br />space in Crystal Ranch Reservoir. The municipal and industrial water exchange <br />to Crystal Ranch Reservoir would be delivered to Brown's Draw Reservoir via <br />the Yellowstone Feeder Canal. Uinta River water now diverted to Brown's Draw <br />would be exchanged for the water provided through the Yellowstone Feeder Canal <br />from Crystal Ranch Reservoir. <br /> <br />Part of the storage in Crystal Ranch Reservoir would replace the irrigation <br />supply presently obtained from 10 high mountain lakes in the High Uintas <br />Wilderness. <br /> <br />The Upalco Unit of the Uinta Basin Replacement Projects is still in planning <br />stages and will require individual section 7 compliance at a later date. The <br />Central Utah Water Conservancy District is the lead agency and is responsible <br />for all environmental compliance. including section 7 consultation. <br /> <br />Uintah Unit <br /> <br />The Uintah Unit Replacement Project would develop flows of the Uinta and <br />Whiterocks Rivers. with minor contributions from other small streams for <br />supplemental irrigation of Indian and secondary lands. Project water would be <br />available from storage regulation of high flows of the Uinta River. from <br />savings of seepage losses through rehabilitation of existing canals. and from <br />retiring marginal farm land. An average of 15.000 acre-feet of water would be <br />depleted annually from the Duchesne River by this project. <br /> <br />Storage regulation would be provided in the Lower Uintah Reservoir on the <br />Uinta River. Irrigation supplies would be released from Lower Uintah <br />Reservoir to the stream channel and re-diverted for distribution through <br />
