This memorandum has been prepared under the authority ,of <br />and in accordance with the provisions of the Fish and Wildlife <br />Coordination Act (48 Stat. 401 as amended, 16 U.S.C. 661 et <br />seq.) . <br /> <br />Mr. Elfrink's memorandum, requested that we "explor-e the <br />mitigation and enhancement aspects of the proposal and determine <br />if there would be.. any addi tiona1 enhancement benei i ts accuring to <br />the project resulting from i~plementation of this proposal". <br /> <br />" <br />" <br /> <br />To mitigate project caused losses to wetlands and vegetation, the <br />Alamosa NWR was to receive a total of 5300 acre-feet of water <br />annually (4500 acre-feet from the conveyance channel; and 800 <br />acre-feet from a deep artesian well. <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendation A.6 in our 1982 Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act <br />Report on this project stated: <br /> <br />""(6. One deep artesian well capable of deliverinq BOO acre- <br />feet of water in 90 days on the Alamosa National Wildlife Refuge. <br />The well to be. located on the northern part of the refuqe.
