CULTURAL RESOURCES

Archeological investigations have been conducted. A copy ofthe State Historical
Preservation Officer clearance of the archeological investigation is include in Appendix F.
There are no archeologically significant sites that will be impacted by the development of
the Tamarack Plan on TRSW A or PESW A. The archeological survey did not include sites
within the 100 year floodplain because these sites were deemed to have been previously
disturbed. There are 24 well sites and approximately 2.49 miles of pipeline located within
the 100 year floodplain.

LAND USE

The project is consistent with the current and future management plans of both SW As.
Unique Farmland investigations have been conducted. A copy ofthe NRCS clearance for
prime and unique farmlands is included in Appelldix D. There are no unique or Prime
farmlands that will be impacted by the developm~nt of the Tamarack Plan on TRSW A or
PESW A.

FLOOD PLAINS AND WETLANDS

Temporary benning at the well construction sites will create a potential reduction in the
floodplain width near the well sites of approximately 100 feet which represents less than
1 % impact to the floodplain width. This temporary impact is deemed a negligible impact
on the floodplain function.

There will be some impact to the wetlands on the PESW A by the construction of a pipeline
from the proposed well to the proposed recharge pond. The COE office determined that
the proposed pipeline construction could be authorized pursuant the Department of the
Army Nationwide Permit No. 18. See Appendix E.

Terry McKee, with the Army Corp of Engineers, reviewed project sites for wetland issues
and clearances for 404 permit.

Dawn Jackson and Cynthia Gilmore, from the Sterling and Sedgwick County NRCS offices
respectively, reviewed project sites for unique and' prime farmland clearances.
Janice McKee, with the USFWS was consulted regarding T&E species.
