All 16 of the 33-by-6.4.foot talnter!gates were opened and tested
Individually at the John Martin (,' am Wednesday. All, however,
spilled simultaneously for a total of only 30 minutes. The gates
were found to be In "perfect" working order. They will be opened

again next week to release water for downstream Irrigation as the
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seek to wash out silt accumulations
In the spilling blnln.
