. -.
1. l; J

AFPENDIX '1'0
ANNUAL REPORT
COLORADO RIVER BOARD OF CALIFORNIA

Year Ending December 31, 1973

This appendix presents data which supplements the Board's 1973
Annual Report.

RIVER OPERATION

Water Supply

During the 1972-73 water year (October 1 through September 30),
10,123,400 acre-feet flowed past Lee Ferry, the Colorado River
Compact point. If reservoir storage conditions in the Upper Basin
had remained unchanged throughout the year, flow at Lee Ferry would
have equalled 15,323,000 acre-feet. The Bureau of Reclamation
estimates that if there had been no man-made depletions upstream,
the virgin flow of the Colorado River at Lee Ferry would have been
about 19,253,000 acre-feet.

The 1972-73 water year was the eleventh year since the closing
of Glen Canyon Dam. In the last ten years, $2,697,000 acre-feet
passed Lee Ferry. Thus, the obligation of Article III (d) of the
Colorado River Compact was met, i.e., that the states of the Upper
Division shall not cause the flow of the Colorado River at Lee Ferry
to be depleted below an aggregate of 75,000,000 acre-feet for any
period of ten consecutive years. A year by year brellicdown follows:

Water Year

.'

1963-64
196h-65
1965-66
1966-67
1967-68
1968-69
1969-70
1970-71
1971-72
1972-73

. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..
