<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />CONCLUSIONS <br /> <br />N <br />W <br />-..1 <br />CJr <br /> <br />The International Water Treaty which has been brought up <br />for consideration of the Mexican Senate is beneficial for our <br />country for the following reasons: <br /> <br />l. Because in the case of the Colorado River it terminates <br />the critical situation in which the 120,000 cultivated <br />hectares (296,500 acres) in Mexicali Valley was found, a <br />critical situation which existed since 1942 when opera- <br />tion of the All American Canal was commenced. Under the <br />Treaty the net 200,000 economically cultivable hectares <br />(494,200 acres) which exist on the Mexican side along <br />both banks of the Colorado River may be cultivated." <br /> <br />L.
