Subject: Narrows Unit, South Platte Division,
Missouri River Basin Program, Revised Fish and
Wildlife Coordination Act Report, Colorado

This memorandum constitutes our revised Fish and Wildlife Coordination
Act Report on the subject project. Fish and wildlife aspects of the
project in Colorado are discussed in this report. A separate report
covering fish and wildlife aspects of the project in Nebraska is also
available. Previous reports on the Narrows Unit by our Service include
reports dated August 30, 1950, December 13, 1951, July 17, 1959, August
4, 1966, and a supplement to that report dated August 9, 1969. In addition
there have been planning aid memorandums dated July 14, 1975, November
4, 1975, January 4 and 25, 1983, February 15, 1983, March 7 and 25,
1983, prepared on the Unit. This report supersedes all previous Fish
and Wildlife Service reports on the Narrows Unit with the exception of
the previously mentioned report dealing with impacts of the project in
Nebraska. The attached substantiating report presents the same coverage
but in greater detail.

Like the earlier reports, this report has been prepared in cooperation
with the Colorado Division of Wildlife and under the authority and in
accordance with the provisions of the Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act
(48 Stat. 401 as amended; 16 U.S.C. et seq.). Concurrence in the report
by the Colorado Wildlife Commission is indicated by the attached copy of
a letter dated June 10, 1983, signed by Director, Jack R. Grieb. The
cooperation of your agency in the studies and preparation of this report
is greatly appreciated.
