In response to numerous <br />requests, severai District employees voluntee!'ed thei!' se!'vices as <br />speake!'s and appeared before meetings of civic, commercial, and <br />technical groups to give information relating to the aqueduct and <br />the operation of the District in general. <br />A photographic section with a staff photographer in charge was <br />maintained to secure a photographic record of construction opera- <br />tions. <br /> <br />Malian Picture <br />On December 14, 1938 members of the board of directors, the <br />staff, employees of the District and representatives of the District <br />cities previewed a new aqueduct film entitled, The Thirteen Golden <br />Cities. There have been given away locally and sent to all <br />parts of the United States and to several foreign countries 1I10re <br />than 6,000 copies. <br />A four-color lithograph map folder was prepared in August <br />1939 for general public distribution. The original order was for <br />25,000, but public demand for the maps has required three reprints, <br />making a totai of 150,000. <br />By using engravings originally prepared for the Aqueduct News, <br />the Los Angeles board of education has prepared for use in its <br />visual education program 500 copies of a series of three illustrated <br />booklets describing the need for the construction and use of the <br />aqueduct. <br />
