.

.

ADD 2 - Supplementary Agreement

"The sum and other assurances made by the

Subdistrict and ranging from specific protection of the

other parties to subordination of Windy Gap to the west

slope project, water for Middle Park, and other points in

the 16 page supplement fully satisfy the Subdistrict's

obligation. It is, of course, subject to court approval.

"This agreement, marks more than a half century

of cooperation between the people of Western Colorado and

those of Northern Colorado. It is 51 years since the Northern

Colorado Water Users Association, predecessor to the

conservancy district by the same name, and the Western Slope

Protection Assn., predecessor to the River District, entered

serious negotiations that led to a Colorado Big Thompson

project which provided Green Mountain Reservoir as mitigation

for Western Colorado. No two areas of the state of Colorado,

with seemingly opposing interests, have worked so well

together to the mutual advantage of the people they serve,"

Fischer said.

-30-

For more information, contact Lee Harris, 945-8522.
