The 160-acre (64.8-ha) area is designated by the first letter <br />following the section number: A indicates the northeast quarter; B, the north- <br />west; C, the southwest; and D, the southeast. The quarter section is subdivi- <br />ded into quarter-quarter sections. The 40-acre (16.2-ha) area is .designated <br />in the same manner by the second letter following the section. The quarter- <br />quarter section is subdivided into quarter-quarter-quarter sections. The <br />10-acre (4.D-ha) area is designated in the same manner by the third letter <br />following the section. <br /> <br />If more than one well is located within the 10-acre (4.0-ha) tract, the <br />wells are numbered sequentially in the order in which they were originally <br />inventoried.
