RELATED STATUTES ili~D FEDERAL LAWS <br /> <br />Sec. 7 thru IS-Enabling Act-1875 Article IX-Colorado Constitution- <br />1876 Colorado Revised Statutes-1973-Title 36 -- Legal Citations <br /> <br />Charge or Mandate <br /> <br />Constitutional charge to direct, control, dispose of and manage certain <br />Trust Lands in ~he State of Colorado, the largest being the Public School <br />Trust for educational purposes, as well as the University Trust, Public <br />Buildings Trust, Penitentiary Trust, Parks and Outdoor Recreation Trust <br />(Internal Improvement Lands) and Agricultural College Trust. Management <br />of these trust lands was entrusted to the State government as custodian <br />tor its people. <br /> <br />I I. PROcRAHS <br /> <br />Program Title: Land Management <br /> <br />To provide for the location, protection, sale or other disposition and use <br />of all lands heretofore or hereafter granted to the state by the general <br />government along with lands that escheat to the state. State Trust Lands <br />have become important assets and sources of revenue for the state. Because <br />of the direct relation of management to benefit derived from the lands, <br />proper management is of material importance. <br /> <br />Target Public: User clients-Ranchers-Farmers-Oil, Cas, and Mineral Industry; <br />Recreational, educational and Scientific Organizations, Commercial and <br />Industrial Agencies as well as state - federal - county - and local governments. <br /> <br />l'url)Us~: To g~llcrntc optimum revenues for deposit to tIle accounts of the <br />trust beneficiaries. The funds collected from the state lands go to the <br />beneficiaries of the various trusts, which funds. contribute to the yearly <br />operating costs of the beneficiaries, therefore, representing a significant <br />savings to the taxpayers of the state. Our program is designed to promote <br />the multiple use as well as the highest and best use of state land with the <br />ultim~lte go~l of obtaining the maximum return in income to the trusts through: <br /> <br />a. Leasing lands for multiple and best use and return per acre. <br />b. Issuing rights-of-way or easements for public roads, pipelines, <br />transmission lines, schools, etc. <br />c.
