<br />RECREATION OPPORTUNITY GUIDE

<br />McPhee Reservoir is located on the Dolores River, near Dolores, Colorado.
<br />This 4,500-acre reservoir lies entirely within the San Juan National
<br />Forest and at high water offers 50 miles of shoreline.
<br />
<br />A variety of recreational opportunities are available including: fishing,
<br />boating, water-skiing, swimming, sail boarding, picnicking, camping,
<br />and sightseeing.
<br />
<br />There are a number of recreation sites at this time. Following is
<br />a brief description of each site and facilities provided.
<br />
<br />McPhee Recreation Complex
<br />Open: May 15 through September 30
<br />Location: Eight miles northwest of Dolores, Colorado off Highway 184.
<br />
<br />Boating Site, 6-lane concrete boat ramp, parking for 115 cars
<br />and 98 boat trailers, two courtesy boat docks,
<br />flush toilets, fish cleaning station.
<br />
<br />80 Unit Family Camp~round, tables, fireplaces, water,
<br />tent pads, flush toilets, asphalt roads and
<br />parking spurs, trash disposal. $7/site fee.
<br />
<br />20 Unit Family Picnic Ground, tables, grills, water,
<br />flush toilets, asphalt road and parking, trash
<br />disposal.
<br />
<br />Group Campground, reservations required, 2 group units
<br />with capacity of 25 people (7 family units) each,
<br />tables, water, grills, fire circles, flush toilets,
<br />asphalt road and parking spurs, trash disposal.
<br />$25/group/day fee.

<br />Group Picnic Ground, reservations required, 2 group units with
<br />capacity of 25 people (7 family units) each, asphalt
<br />parking, tables, grills, water, flush toilets, open
<br />playarea, gravel overflow parking to accommodate 56
<br />vehicles, trash disposal. $25/group/day fee.
<br />
<br />Scenic Overlook, 15 asphalt parking spaces, observation
<br />platform, interpretive signs.
