.

.

B. Management Objectives (To describe the purpose of the plan.)
The objectives should be' described for each type of segment.
(Wild, Scenic, or Recreational - Page 2 of Guidelines)
The two primary objectives are to:

1. Protect the river from degradation in the visual
corridor (line of sight) and to protect "outstandingly
remarkable" characteristics within the innnediate
environment of the river;

2. Provide recreation opportunities in areas dependent
upon their carrying capacity.

C. The Area Involved in the Proposed Action (Should describe
the location and size (total length of river in miles and
total area in acres to be protected) of the area proposed
for inclusion in the system with text and map(s). }~p(s)
should display all segments proposed for differing classi-
fications and study segments not proposed for inclusion.
Segments should be identified in the text and maps \lith a
numerical ?nd/or alphabetical code for reference purposes.
A table may be used to summarize the different segments
and their classifications.)

D. Projected Recreation Use (Show current use by type of activity.
Show resulting net increase (or decrease)" if any, resulting
from designation. Projected use will probably reach and
be held at the carrying capacity.)

E. Conceptual Development and Management P1an(s) (It may be
advisable to state, if true, that existing uses (depending
on classification of segment) will not be affected if the
plan is implemented.) The plan should portray:

1. The protection of the resource. This can be accomplished
by:

a. Control of access points and areas for recreational
developments,
b. Land use controls such as fee and less than fee
acquisition or by some form of state or local zoning
(see Attachment 1 for more information).
c. Controls of recreationists 80 that carrying capacity
is not exceeded and litter, trespass, vandalism, etc.,
is avoided.

2. The provision of recreational opportunities by:

8. Provision of access (how many, where, & type)
b. Provision of recreation facilities (how many, type,
where, and public or private)

OS66

4
