The forecasted
inflow combined with a 1000 cfs release, should draw the reservoir
down to near minimum power pool (6463.4 feet) by the end of March.
Releases will likely be increased to maximum power plant capacity
(approximately 1300 cfs) in the early part of April.

PLAKIBG GORGB - Snowpack in the Upper Green River Basin is now at
84 percent of normal. Forecasted unregulated inflow into Flaming
Gorge is 75 percent of normal. Unless precipitation in the Upper
Green River Basin is much above average this spring, water year
1995 will be the 9th consecutive year of below normal inflow into
Flaming Gorge.

Releases from Flaming Gorge this past winter season have been
steady, with no hour to hour fluctuation. From December 1, 1994
until February 14, releases were steady at 1200 cfs. Releases have
been steady at 800 cfs since that date. Releases will likely
remain at..OO cfs until early April. .

In water year 1995, Flaming Gorge is again being operated in
compliance with the Final BiOlogical Opinion for the Operation of
Flaming Gorge Dam (FBOFGD). Details of the upcoming special spring
release will be formulated at the Flaming Gorge Working Group
meeting to be held in Vernal, ut. on April 12 and 13. For
information on the Flaming Gorge Working Group contact Ed Vidmar at
801-379-1000.

The minimum flow criteria of 800 cfs at Flaming Gorge will continue
to be strictly adhered to at all times during the year.
