PENlTENTE- A proposal to delineate a trail between Penitente Canyon and Witches Scoping and
WITCHES CANYON Canyon. The trail will begin in Penitente Canyon, loop through analysis in
LOOP TRAIL Witches Canyon, and terminate back in Penitente Canyon. The majority progress.
of this trail (85%) has already been established by hikers and climbers
visiting the Penitente Canyon Special Recreation Management Area.
The project wil consist of widening portions of existing trail, installing
waterbars, placing rock cairns in needed locations, removing small
amounts of brush and grass, and installing small directional signs in key
locations. A Class 3 Heritage Resource Inventory Report has already
been compiled by a BLM and RGNF Archaeological Technician.
