<br />Subsequent negotiations culminated in a treaty which was signed by <br />representatives of' the United States and Mexico February 3, 1944. <br />The treaty became ef'f'ective on November 8, 1945, after ratif'ication <br />by the United States Senate on April 18, 1945. <br /> <br />The maximum acreage served f'rom the Colorado River prior to <br /> <br />the closure of' Hoover Dam in 1935 was 191,400 acres in 1928, which <br />had dropped to a low of' 69,900 acres in 1932, and was 156,600 in <br />1934, the last year bef'ore closure. Since November of' 1950 when <br /> <br />operations under the treaty were started, the annual quantity of' <br /> <br /> <br />water delivered to Mexico has ranged f'rcm about 1,780,000 acre-f'eet <br /> <br />to about 10, 186,000 acre-f'eet.
