RecoIlllDendations <br /> <br /> <br />It is recommended that: <br /> <br /> <br />(1) Necessary action be initiated to allot 30,000 to 35,000 <br /> <br /> <br />additional acres of cotton to the Wellton-Mohawk <br /> <br /> <br />District, connnencing with the 1963 crop year. <br /> <br /> <br />(2) CongI'essional approval and funds be obtained to start <br /> <br /> <br />immediate construction under Phase 1. <br /> <br /> <br />(3) Upon receiving CongI'essional approval, collection of <br /> <br /> <br />fie1d data and design studies for Phase 2 construction <br /> <br /> <br />be initiated, including repair of gates at Imperial Dem. <br /> <br /> <br />(4) Proper action be initiated to transfer construction of <br /> <br /> <br />the Texas Hill-Gi1a Siphon 1evee and f100dway system <br /> <br /> <br />from the Corps of Engineers to the Bureau of <br /> <br /> <br />Reclamation so that the f100d protection system can <br /> <br /> <br />be constructed simultaneous1y with the other proposed <br /> <br /> <br />works in Phase 2. <br /> <br /> <br />(5) Additional studies (discussed be10w) be started at the <br /> <br /> <br />earliest date. <br /> <br /> <br />D.
