Environmental Involvement

1. The advance copy of the Draft Environmental Statement for the
proposed Bostwick and Lytle Laterals for Bostwick Park Project was for-
warded to Commissioner o~ February 9, 1973. It has not been released
for distribution to CEQ or other agencies.

2. Operation of the laterals will result in conversion of 784 acres '
of sagebrush and grass-covered dryland from livestock range and wildlife
habitat to irrigated cropland. This does not present a problem with live-
stock or wildlife interests in the area.

3. It is estimated that. supplemental and new irrigation of lands
would increase the total dissolved solids in the Colorado River below
Hoover Dam by less than 0.5 Ing./l.
