All budgets were based on prices for the 1939- <br />1944 period which are assumed to be representative of average prices in <br />the future, <br /> <br />In the income-to-land method the pro~s~ons of farm-lease agreements <br />commonly used in the area were taken as a basis for the division of income <br />and expenses, The payment capacity was determined as the difference <br />between expenses chargeable to land and the gross income to land, <br /> <br />Financial conditions of representative farms as determined from the <br />studies made are summarized in the table on the fallowing page, <br /> <br />40 <br />
