Alfalfa and small grains are raised on <br />more than 75 percent of the area. Land in Dry Elk Valley is devoted <br />almost entirely to production of alfalfa and small grains for livestock <br />feed. Soil and climatic conditions of the project area are suitable for <br />general crops but production of these crops is restricted by the late- <br />season water supply shltrtages. <br /> <br />Present crop distribution, yields, prices, and gross crop values <br />per acre are shOlm in the fo11owiilg table for lands in Dry Elk Valley and <br />on Harvey Mesa. <br /> <br />AVERAGE ANNUAL CROP DISTRIBUTION, <br />YIELDS.
