These laterals

have a total length of 25 miles and initial capacities ranging from 1 to

13 cfs. These are private development laterals and serve lands of both

the Palisade and Mesa County Irrigation Districts.

Middle Government Highline laterals.--The middle Government Highline

laterals consist of 54 laterals diverted from a 20-mile section of the

Government Highline Canal extending from Grand Junction to the Stage One

area. The laterals have a total length of 83 miles and initial capaci-

ties ranging from 1 to 34 cfs.

All of the middle Government Highline

laterals are federally developed and are operated and maintained by the

Grand Valley Water Users Association.

West end Government Highline Laterals .--The 10 west end Government

Highline laterals are diverted from the last lO miles of the canal.
