<br />C"'.) <br />OJ <br />C'-l <br />o <br />---.. <br /> <br />.-, <br /> <br />CHAPTER V <br /> <br />STAGE TWO PLAN OF DEVELOPMENT <br /> <br />200-foot concrete flume across Adobe Wash, a l40-foot-long siphon under <br /> <br />Little Salt Wash, and a 90-foot siphon under East Branch Big Salt Wash. <br /> <br />The first 7 miles from Indian Wash to the persigo Wash flume would <br /> <br />have a 670-cfs capacity with a l2-foot bottom width and an 8.5-foot <br /> <br />depth. <br /> <br />The 7.5 miles to the Little Salt Wash siphon would have a <br /> <br />capacity of 570 cfs with an ll-foot bottom width and an 8.5-foot depth. <br /> <br />The following 3.5 miles to the siphon at the East Branch Big Salt Wash <br /> <br />would have a capac ity of 450 cfs wi th an 8. 5-foot bot tom width and a <br /> <br />7-foot depth. The last 2 miles ending at Big Salt Wash siphon, recently <br /> <br />constructed under Stage One, would have a capacity of 390 cfs with an <br /> <br />8-foot bottom width and 7.5-foot depth. <br /> <br />Check and wasteway structures would be constructed at each change in <br /> <br />canal capacity at persigo Wash, Little Salt Wash, and East Branch Big <br /> <br />Sal t Wash. <br /> <br />Three centerline checks would be added--one in the 670-cfs <br /> <br />reach, one in the 570-cfs reach, and one in the 450-cfs reach. <br /> <br />Fifty-four lateral turnouts and 30 farm turnouts would be replaced. <br /> <br />The initial capacities of the lateral turnouts would range from 1 to 34 <br /> <br />cfs, and the farm turnout capacities would range from 1 to 6 cfs. <br /> <br />West End Government Highline Canal <br /> <br />The west end Government Highline Canal extends for lO miles from the <br /> <br />end of Stage One to the Government Highline Canal's terminus 6 miles <br /> <br />northwest of Mack. <br /> <br />Major existing waterway structures in this section <br /> <br />include a 360-foot-long wooden flume across Mack Wash, a mile-long siphon <br /> <br />under East Salt Creek, and a 200-foot siphon under Badger Wash. <br /> <br />The first reach is 3 miles long ending at the East Salt Creek siphon <br /> <br />and would have a l50-cfs capacity with a 6-foot bottom width and as-foot <br /> <br />35 <br />
