Alexander <br />Secretary <br />Department of the Army <br />The Pentagon <br />Washington, D.C. 20310 <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Secretaries: <br /> <br />I am pleased to forward to you background materials and comments of State members <br />of the Missouri River Basin Commission concerning the extpnsion of the Febr. 24, 1975, <br />Memorandum of Understanding between the Departments of the Army and Interior relative <br />to marketing of water for industrial use from the six main stem Missouri River reser- <br />voirs and any future agreement in this regard. <br /> <br />By agreement signed on January 19, 1977, by former Secretaries Thomas Kleppe and <br />Martin Hoffmann, the policy for marketing water was extended to May I, 1977. <br /> <br />The following materials have been attached for your information and guidance in <br />reviewing any future courses of action concerning water marketing policy on the <br />Missouri River main stem. <br /> <br />Suite 403 . 10050 Regency Circle . Summary minutes of the State-Federal Coordination Meeting on Federal Policy in <br />Marketing Industrial Water from the Six Main Stem Missouri River Reservoirs, <br />December 3, 1976, Denver, Colorado. <br /> <br />2. Subsequent State comments following the December 3, 1976, meeting concerning their <br />views on a draft Supplemental Memorandum of Understanding to extend the water mar- <br />keting policy on the Missouri River from the Missouri River main stem reservoirs. <br /> <br />3.
