Ireland <br /> <br />The Committee meeting was called to order in the Commissioners I Room of the <br />Prowers County Courthouse with Gen. Kramer presiding as Chairman. Ray E. Peterson, <br />Denver, acted as reporter. <br /> <br />Chairman Kramer inquired the status of the comments being prepared by Colorado <br />on the Fryingpan-Arkansas report of the Bureau of Reclamation. <br /> <br />Rep. Stone (Colorado) reported the official State comments for Colorado had not <br />been put into lrriting but that general understanding of the position Colorado would <br />take had been informally reached. He said the State conunents would be adopted offi- <br />cially at a meeting of the State ilater Board to be held later in July or early in. <br />August. He stated. that the Colorado comments vlill include a conclusion that the <br />operation of the Fryingpan-I<rkansas Project shall not interfere with the Arkansas <br />River ComPact and its administration or the rights of the signatory states under the <br />Compact. <br /> <br />Rep. Stone advised that the Administration make its oWn comments on the pro- <br />posed project plan, as to its belief that the project can be operated without inter- <br />fering with the Compact. He said the Administration is not concerned with any <br />detaUs of internal problems "i thin the stat e of Oolorado Wl ich are being solved <br />by a Policy and Review CO!lll:lLtee set up for that purpose. <br /> <br />Rep. Stone reported that essentially the Colorado comments will set forth: <br /> <br />1. That the plan of operation, recolll!llended by the Colorado ),Fater Conservation <br />Board and accepted by the Bureau of Reclamation, is satisfacto~'. <br />
