ARMY ARKANSAS-WHITE-RED OFFICE SOUTHWESTERN DIVISION TULSA, OKLAHO}liA FOR WORK GROUP ON DESCRIPTION OF BASIN AND STATISTICAL INFORMATION ARKANSAS-WHITE-RED BASINS INTER-AGENCY CONMITTEE PREFACE This report is largely a compilation of data from prior published reports for the Arkansas and White River Basins dated December 1948 and for the Red River Basin dated April 1952. The major addition to prior published data has been a delineation and dete:rnti.nation of noncontributing areas in the upper Arkansas River Basin and a change in format of presen- tation to facilitate use of data. Some revisions (see paragraph 30f introduction) have been made from prior published drainage area figures. . Because of the over-all minor nature of revisions and also because of the late date that this information could be made available to other participants working on the AWR report, it is ooncluded that the prior published drainage area figures will continue to be used in the AWR report. The data contained in this report should be considered as 'I'bringing-up-to- datelt prior publili!hed data plus the addition of noncontributing area data for the upper Arkansas River Basin. As provided in the FIARBC bulletin dated November 1951, ItInter-Agency Coordination of Drainage Area Data", the decision as to use of these data in future publioations is vested in the using agene,y. Most of the nonoontributing area delineations were developed by agencies of the Department of the Interior and Department of Agriculture and the New MexicO State Engineer's Office. The USGS, Austin, Texas, planimetered the noncontributing area in the upper Red River Basin. The remaining work was accomplished by the personnel of the Distriot and tJivision Engineer Offices, Corps of Engineers, U. S. Army. Init.ial distribution of this report has been made through Federal and State reprl;lsentatives of the Work Group on Description of Basin and Statistioal Information, AWRBIAC. If discrepancies in this report are notl;ld, it should be reported to the Officl;lr in Charge, Arkansas-White-Red Office, Corps of Engineers, Tulsa, Oklahoma. " ".}""
