During the fall
and winter months of 1976-77, the reservoir water
level dropped about 13 feet to elel'ation 3,651 feet.
Low releases from Glen Canyon Dam during April,
May, and June allowed the Bureau to integrate
purchased power into the Colorado River Storage
Project system when it was more readily available.
The April-July 1977 runoff of the Colorado River
at Lees Ferry, Ariz., was 1.1 million acre.feet, or
14 percent of the long.time average. By the end
of water year 1977, the level of Lake Powell had
receded a total of 27 feet to elevation 3,637 feet.
(Chart 7.)

OUTFLOW

14

MAXIMUM STORAGE
RATED HEAD
MINIMUM POWER
SURFACE AREA [FULL!
RESlRVOIR LENGTH (FULLI
POwER Pl.ANT
NUMBER OF UNITS 8
TOTAL CAPACITY OF UNITS 900,000 KILOWATTS
"dOe$"ofmclllDI T.998.lXlO.tc"'~nl of d~dsrorllge
~{o",,3310fHt

20

10

~ 0
820
w
!!!
~
~ 10
"
u
0;
a 0
~ 20

"
w 10
"
<
W
"
~ 0
20

10

o

..... :> u Z
g ~ 0 ~

<i cr a: >-
~ ~ ~ ~
WilllrVear 1111

w ~ 0 ," ~ ,- U Z "
Z m <
~ ~ 0 W U 0 W ~
< ~I 0 z 0

,"
~I
