<br />Curecanti Unit-Blue Mesa Reservoir <br /> <br /> <br />At the end of September 1976. Blue Mesa Reser- <br />voir contained 606,000 acre-feet of active water <br />storage, with a water surface elevation of 7,493 <br />feet. During April-July 1977, inflow to Blue Mesa <br />was 149.000 acre-feet. or about 19 percent of nor- <br />mal, with a 1977 water year total of 294,000 acre- <br />feet. Low inflow caused the reservoir to drop <br />through the summer to elevation 7.432 feet with <br />a content of 221,000 acre-feet by the end of Sep- <br />tember 1977. During water year 1977. a minimum <br />flow of 200 tt'/s was maintained below the Gunni. <br />son Tunnel diversion to protect the fishery resource <br />in the river. <br /> <br />Charf 3/ Blue Mesa <br />Reservoir <br /> <br />The March 1. 1977, forecast of the April-July 1977 <br />inflow to Blue Mesa was 280.000 acre-feet. The <br />flood control regulations did not require evacuation <br />of space during the snowmelt season; conse- <br />quently. the operation of Blue Mesa did not in- <br />clude releases for flood control.
