<br />T. 32 N., R. 8 E., on left bank 1 mile south of New MeXico-Colorado State line, 2 miles
<br />southwest of Ortiz, and 22 miles upstream from mouth. Altitude of gage is 8,100 ft.

<br />Drainage area.--167 sq mi.
<br />
<br />Average discharge.--41 years (1915-20, 1925-59), 127 cfs (91,940 acre-ft per year).
<br />
<br />Extremes.--1915-20, 1925-59: Maximum discharge, 3,160 efs May 12, 1941 (gage height,
<br />S.'?? ft, site and datum then in use), from rating curve extended above 1,600 efs;
<br />minimum observed, 4.0 efa Dec. 17, 1945.

<br />Remarks.--Records good except those for winter months, which are fair. Diversions above

<br />Location.--Water-stage recorders, lat 37018'. long 1050451. in sees. 2 and 11 (two
<br />channels), T. 35 N., R. 11 E., on left bank of main channel 100 ft downstream from
<br />bridge on State Highway 158 and on right bank of secondary channel 130 ft downstream
<br />from bridge, half a mile upstream from mouth. and 2 miles north of La Sauses. Datum of
<br />gage on main channel is 7,495.02 ft and on secondary (south) channel is 7,495.89 ft
<br />above mean sea level (levels by Bureau of Reclamation).

<br />Drainage area.--887 sq mi.

<br />Average discharge.--38 years (1922-59), 202 cfs (146,200 acre-ft per year).
