<br />l...r_.:~ ! t <br /> <br />ts\ \9T"t- <br /> <br />f- <br /> <br />,,:.-l <br />L'- <br /> <br />-t <br /> <br />Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Project <br />Grand Valley Unit <br /> <br />C~~ <br /> <br />The area selected for Stage One construction lies entirely within <br /> <br />one drainage basin, drained by Reed Wash, and is bound on the north <br /> <br />by the Government Highline Canal and on the south by the Kiefer Extension. <br /> <br />Stage One construction will consist of lining 6.7 miles of the <br /> <br />Government Highline Canal between Big Salt Wash on the east to Highline <br /> <br />Lake intake on the west. Fourteen existing laterals totaling 34.2 miles <br /> <br />will be replaced by twelve pipe laterals totaling 29.7 miles. Eleven <br /> <br />direct farm turnouts from the canal will be replaced. <br /> <br />Land irrigated in the Stage One area totals about 6,300 acres <br /> <br />including 5;720 acres served by laterals and 580 acres served by direct <br /> <br />farm turnouts from the canal. <br /> <br />Schedule: ;-<,..-:' <br /> <br />1) Environmental Assessment - end of calendar year 1977 <br /> <br />2) Definite Plan Report - early calendar year 1978 <br /> <br />3) Field station construction - spring 1978 <br /> <br />4).
