The proposed uprates would increase the maximum discharge at Glen <br />Canyon Dam by 5 percent over the present maximum and would have no <br />measurable impact on the size or duration of minimum discharges. <br />Operational patterns would continue essentially as historically; <br />therefore, no additional impacts on recreation are expected. <br /> <br />5. There would be no impact on known historical or archeological <br />resources as surveys indicate they are located above the area that <br />would be affected by increased flows. <br /> <br />Approximately 500 copies of the Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) <br />were distributed to the public which resulted in the receipt of approxi- <br />mately 350 letters of comment. Over 50 percent of the comments dealt <br />with the impacts of the present operation of Glen Canyon Powerplant. Of <br />those comments dealing with issues related to the proposed uprating, none <br />were unresolvable. A summary of the comments on the Draft EA and responses <br />to them are attached to the Final EA. <br /> <br />ii <br />
