<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />24~; making the studies, the historic South Platte River <br /> <br />daily discharge and irrigation diversions during the irrigation <br /> <br />season for the years 1952 to 1957 inclusive were studied to determine <br /> <br />the exchange potential as follows: <br /> <br />A. The Narrows site up to Bijou and Riverside Ditches - <br />Historic Conditions. <br /> <br />B. Weld county Site up to the Burlington Ditch - Historic <br />Conditions. <br /> <br />C. The Narrows Site up to the Burlington Ditch - Historic <br />Conditions. <br /> <br />D. As affected by additional water, under 1990 conditions. <br /> <br />The daily direct diversions to irrigation and to storage <br /> <br />during the irrigation season were taken from the Water Commissioners' <br /> <br />records in the state Engineer's office, except that daily records of <br /> <br />water diverted into storage in the Burlington Ditch system during <br /> <br />the period of studies were obtained from the Farmers Reservoir and <br /> <br />Irrigation Company. The District Water Conooissioners were inter- <br /> <br />viewed to learn how the river was operated and to clarify the points <br /> <br />of diversions of many of the decreed rights Which had been trans- <br /> <br />ferred. Denver's sewage outflow was obtained from the City of Denver <br /> <br />and added to the recorded flow at the Denver gage. The recorded <br /> <br />stream flow records at all stream gages, when appropriate, were ad- <br /> <br />justed for reservoir water passing the gages for delivery to a down- <br /> <br />stream irrigation system. Thus, only river water was considered as <br /> <br />available for exchange. <br /> <br />- 3 - <br />
