The per capita income cf Wyoming in the past <br />has been about equal to that of the nation except in the year 1950 when <br />Wyoming's income per capita exceeded the nation's by 9 percent. Nevada's <br />per capita income has been considerably above that of the nation for the <br />years listed -- ranging from 24 percent above in 1944 to 51 percent in <br />1939, The per capita incomes of the other six states listed have been <br />below that of the national average throughout the period covered in the <br />table. <br /> <br />The per capita incomes of all the states have increased rapidly since <br />1940. Those of Wyoming and Nevada, although already relatively high in <br />1940, nearly tripled between 1940 and 1955, while those of the othersu <br />sta.tes more than tripled. The weighted average per capita income of the <br />eight states that contain the power market region increased 3.25 times be- <br />tween 1940 and 1955 as compared to 3.1 times for the nation as a whole. <br /> <br />- 19 - <br /> <br />
