<br />001048 . <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Discussion Draft <br /> <br />/ <br /> <br />1721.3-2 Criteria for Classification for Disposal <br /> <br />\ <br /> <br />To be classified for disposal lan1s must be qualified <br />for disposition under statutes authorizing the Secretary <br />of the Interior to transfer public lands out of federal <br />ownership, and must be: <br /> <br />(a) Required for the orderly growth and development <br />of a community. <br /> <br />Such requirement will be based upon projection <br />techniques utilized by recognized professional urban <br />planning associations and groups. The lands must be <br />within a projected growth zone and must be covered <br />by forceful and enforceable zoning regulations, or <br /> <br />(b) Chiefly valuable for residential use or development. <br /> <br />Such lands must be physically suitable as a site for <br />single or multi-family dwellings. There must be a <br />current or foreseeable demand for'such sites. Forceful <br />and enforceable zoning regulations must be in effect, <br />and must provide for residential use or development, or <br /> <br />(c) Chiefly valuable for cornmercisl or industrial use or <br />development. <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />Such lands must be physically suitable as a site for <br />the manufacture, testing, processing, sales, exchange or <br />distribution of goods or services. This does not include <br />sites for the raising of agricultural crops or livestock <br />or sites for the extraction or severance of raw materials. <br />There must be a current or foreseesble demand for such <br />sites.
