No large floods wer,) discharged into the Arkansas from the

Purgbtoire in 1921, and such flood-flows as did occur were at. a time when there

were heavy flood-flows past LaJunta in the Arkansas River. The 1921 Purgltoire

flood-flows occurred during June, July and August, and approximated 60,000 acre-ft.

The 12-year period analyzed is fairly well balanced as to character

of yearly flows (as shown by Table 1), and the 12-year average diversion should

be a fairly representative figMre when taken in comparison with maximum and

minimum diversions.

IJU3.kltJ",.
lJ:lKAN1JJ\S lUWJLRLLAM.8RL
8 miles below Amit.; Diversion.
Note: NOl'ecor(rs'at-i.amar~priorto'I9-13.
Values in Acre-ft.

Wst Years
19~-'536,OOO
1915 382,000
1923 1,393,000

Intermediate Years
1916-'. 115, 000 .'-
1919 122,000
1920 83,000
1924 231,000
1925 170,000

Note: 1921, 1,042,000 acre-ft. at Lamar (Pueblo Flood year).

Dry J~~~
1913 34,000
1917 41,000
1918 39,000
1922 36,000
