<br />-" <br />In <br />to <br />(."":: <br />.~ <br /> <br />f., <br /> <br />i-', <br /> <br />.-~ <br />'.-' <br /> <br />Meeting/Correspondence History <br /> <br />November 28, 1977 and December 22, 1977 - by memorandum, <br />Reclamation and FWS agreed to three things: <br /> <br />Reclamation will underwrite the acquisition and development <br />of up to 1,200 acres of wildlife habitat replacement for the <br />USDA onfarm program in exchange for the FWS support of the <br />EA/FONSI for Stage One. <br /> <br />Accomplishments of the SCS voluntary habitat replacement <br />program will be credited against the 1,200 acres. <br />~p <br />The success of theAvoluntary program will be evaluated after <br />the USDA program is completed in 1989. <br /> <br />October 30, 1984 - The Salinity Control Act was amended by PL-98- <br />569 to authorize replacement of fish and wildlif,= values foregone <br />for Reclamation and the USDA Salinity Control Program (including <br />a separate USDA program to replace fish and wildlife habitat) . <br /> <br />h <br />/ <br /> <br />November 4, 1991 memorandum - FWS requested Reclamation begin the to ~:'~.'o/'<'" <br />evaluate and implement its underwriting commitment. '" <br /> <br />February 19, 1992 meeting - SCS proposed methods to improve <br />habitat replacement program and expressed optimi!3m in being able ~ <br />to meet the 1,200 acre requirement. 1h~ <br /> <br />October 28, 1992 meeting - according to SCS figures, as of ~ ttfL.7~.J <br />December 1991, onlb 102 acres or 8.5 percent of t:he wildlifeuwt 7:Ji o.iJV <br />improvements have een installed. Work Group will <br />make recommendation to Forum. <br /> <br />November 25, 1992 memorandum - FWS requested BOR concur with <br />staff recommendations from the October 28, 1992 meeting to have <br />Reclamation develop 400 acres of habitat to bring the wildlife <br />replacement concurrent with salinity improvements. <br /> <br />February 3, 1993 memorandum - BOR responds to FWS explaining that <br />Jack Barnett would like to discuss the issue with the Forum Work <br />Group and the Forum. <br /> <br />March 16, 1993 meeting - Forum Work Group will discuss further in <br />next meeting. <br /> <br />April 26, 1993 meeting - Work Group will discuss and make <br />recommendation to Forum. <br />
