<br />090G <br /> <br />Report on Operations through Water Year 1969 <br />Ruedi Reservoir <br /> <br />Ruedi Dam was closed and storage began in Ruedi Reservoir on May 21, <br /> <br />1968, For initial filling, the reservoir water level rise was limited <br />to one foot per day in accordance with the designer's operating <br /> <br />criteria. Water in storage on October 1, 1968, was 45,166 acre-feet. <br /> <br />Maximum seasonal storage in Ruedi Reservoir occurred on June 23, 1969, <br /> <br />at 102,482 acre-feet, At this content, the reservoir water surface <br /> <br />elevation was 7767.43, or 1,43 feet above the spillway crest. The <br /> <br />reservoir was gradually drawn down to elevation 7764,ot during August <br />of 1969, and maintained at that level until September 15, 1969, From <br />September 15 through 30, the reservoir was drawn down at the rate of <br />approximately 0,25 foot per day until on September 30, 1969, the <br />storage was 96,769 acre-feet. <br /> <br />The natural flow of the Fryingpan River at Ruedi for water year 1969 <br /> <br />was 164,000 acre-feet, or very nearly normal, The natural flow was <br /> <br />depleted by 6,879 acre-feet exported via the Busk-Ivanhoe transmountain <br /> <br /> <br />tunnel into the Arkansas River Basin. Historic operation of the <br /> <br /> <br />reservoir on a monthly basis is shown in Table 1 and Exhibit 3, <br /> <br />Turquoise Lake <br />Sugar Loaf Dam was built downstream from the then existing CF&I <br />Steel Corporation's dam, The new dam was closed and the old dam <br /> <br /> <br />breached on April 15, 1968. Storage in the old reservoir at that <br /> <br /> <br />time was 4,129 acre-feet, 1111 in the ownership of CF&I. On <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />
