<br />Gene!:al <br /> <br /> <br />090 l <br /> <br />ANNlIAL OPERATING PLAN <br />FRYINGPAN-ARKANSAS PROJECT, COLORADO <br />1969 OPERATIONS <br />1970 OUTLOOK <br /> <br />This is the first Annual Operating Plan for the Fryingpan-Arkansas <br /> <br />Project which, when completed, will consist of federally owned dams, <br /> <br />reservoirs, canals, tunnels, pumping plants, hydroelectric power- <br /> <br />plants, electric transmission lines, substations, and other facilities, <br /> <br />As indicated by the enclosed Project Map, these features are or will <br /> <br />be located in the Roaring Fork Basin of the. Colorado River Basin and <br /> <br />in the Arkansas River Basin, all in central and southeastern Colorado, <br /> <br /> <br />These extensive works will untimately make possible the orderly and <br /> <br />beneficial use of water for irrigation, hydroelectric power generation, <br /> <br />fish and wildlife preservation, municipal, industrial, flood control, <br /> <br />and other collateral purposes, <br /> <br />Currently, the only project features in operation are Ruedi Reservoir <br /> <br />and Turquoise Lake. Because other related Fryingpan-Arkansas Project <br /> <br />features are still under construction, neither of these features will <br /> <br />be in full operation during 1970, The Bureau of Reclamation is <br /> <br />currently conducting studies to determine the amount of storage space <br /> <br />required in Ruedi Reservoir for the replacement of project diversions. <br /> <br />Until these needs have been determined, the Bureau cannot enter into <br />
